President Digong's 3rd SONA

President Rodrigo Duterte had his 3rd State of the Nation Address(SONA) last July 23,2018. It lasted barely 50 minutes. His speech focused on issues like drugs, corruption, federalism Bangsamoro law ties with China, labor and employment, Boracay land sea and train law. His speech during the SONA lacked his usual humor and charisma. But we should give credit to our president for giving priorities to universal health care, fund for coconut farmers and cutting red tape. Moreover, the main highlights, the draft of the Bangsamoro Organic Law but due to situations in the lower house it was not satisfied for the president to have signed and approve it. However, it would have been better if he would also focus on overseas Filipino workers and more opportunities for our country. Through Planting We Can Make Our World a Better Place

This year's theme on Nutrition Month Celebration is " Ugaliing Magtanim Sapat Na Nutrisyon Aanihin" A very strong challenge for everyone to do because of its emphasis on how to produce our own food and crops so that our body's nutritional needs and demand are met. It teaches us how to be responsible, resourceful and healthy in terms of food, proper nutrition and meal planning. The theme is a combined effort of 2 departments particularly agriculture and the health specifically the nutrition sector. It tells us that if we plant our own food, we can oversee how we would let this plant grow, what we used and after harvest we can now use it to nourish our body needs. Lastly, it is through this way that we can avoid illness derived from the food we eat. It is best that we know where it came from ,how it was grown so that we are sure that we eat makes our body upbeat.

Letter to the President

Teresa Marie Javier Brgy. III Vigan City Ilocos Sur July 9, 2018 PRESIDENT RODRIGO DUTERTE Malacanang Palace Compound J.P. Laurel Street , San Miguel Manila Philippines Dear Mr. President , I am writing to you to express my concerns regarding random drug testing for students in schools. It is not to oppose your directives and goal of identifying students with possible substance abuse and to intervene early. But my basic concern is the trauma of fear it would create on us students being suspected on using illegal drugs. The psychological distress and embarrassment due to unwanted invasion of privacy and even possible breach of confidentiality . Although for non-users , it is not a problem. For the user, it would be a chance for them to change and go for rehabilitation. The school I believe is a safe , supportive environment where children can learn and reach their potential. So whatever be the decision, I would like to reinforce that the good and betterment of whoever iden

Philippine Independence Day : Worth Remembering For

June 12 ,2018 is the 120th celebration of our Philippine Independence. It is more than waving a flag  and organizing celebrations. It is a commemoration for our country's freedom from different colonizations. A reminder of the determination of the Filipinos to exercise their right to liberty and independence. It brings honor to those who sacrificed their lives to end the abuses of different foreign countries like the Spaniards. As well as serve as inspiration for young generations to take lead in fighting for freedom and independence against threats to our country. At present what does Independence Day mean to us Filipinos? It is liberating ourselves from the shadows of fear. To be fearless means being ready and capable of fighting those who threatens our freedom. Freedom then is enjoying liberties without fearing harm. It is but proper for us to join in the celebration to present our optimism as Filipinos amid times of conflict and hardship.
